Patterned Straw Basket with Long Leather Handles

This delightfully colourful bag is a go to for everyday use. It can be your handbag, your shopping bag, your overnight bag, beach, snack bag for movies and outings, the ideas are endless. 

The straw basket is made of two layers of straw, the colourful outside layer and the plain inside layer, making it extra strong. The corners have leather stitched on for protection and the bag has two closures, first a drawstring skirt closure and then a leather strap with a magnetic clip. The two handles are each made of 2 straps of leather stitched together and securely stitched to the basket.

The basket measures 35cm wide x 35cm high x 18cm deep. Leather handle drop of 23cm to top of basket. ** Please note that as these bags are handmade, the bag measurements are for an average size bag. Some are slightly smaller and some slightly bigger.

This basket is hand made in Madagascar by skilled artisans. With a population of over 28 million citizens, Madagascar’s raffia and straw industry employs over 2 million, bringing a better economy to their country.
